11/18 Concordia Comes Up Short in Season Opener.

Concordia tried to steal the game in the final minutes, but came up short in their season opening loss to MSU-Moorhead 53-51. Trailing for the major part of the game, the Cobbers narrowed the gap late in the game when Trent Hagen (So., Pelican Rapids) hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 49-47 with just over four minutes to play. The two teams would only score four points apiece the rest of the way, and the margin would remain at two.The game was slowed by numerous fouls called on both teams. For the game there were 55 fouls called and 63 free throws taken. The Cobbers were 14-of-25 for 56 percent from the foul line while the Dragons managed to make 25-of-38 free throws for 66 percent. Jeff Ubben (Jr., Moorhead, MN) led the Concordia with 19 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Concordia will travel to California to play in the University of Redlands Tournament on November 30th.
