Cobbers Fall in Four to Bethel 3-1.
Concordia loses 15-30, 17-30, 30-22, 21-30. Concordia dropped their third MIAC match in a row, as they lost in four games to Bethel 3-1. The Cobber (2-3, 4-11) grew stronger as the match wore on but were unable to stop the potent Royal (4-1, 10-7) attack.

Concordia stumbled out of the starting gate, losing 30-15 and 30-17. The Cobbers then rallied to take the third game 30-22, before dropping the fourth and final game 30-21.

Concordia was unable to stop the tandem of Katie Larsen and Angie Frenell who combined for 32 kills for the match. Janelle Nelson consistently set Larsen and Frenell with perfect sets to enable the Royals to find cracks in the Cobber defense. Nelson finished with a match-high 40 assists. Concordia was led by the first year duo of Jackelyn Barten (Melrose, Minn.) and Kris Sather  (Fosston, Minn.) who had nine kills apiece. First year setter Jessica Walden ended the match with 27 assists.

Concordia hosts Jamestown on Friday, September 28th at 7:00 and then returns to MIAC play on Wednesday, October 3rd when they welcome Macalester to Memorial Auditorium. Bethel will travel to the Wartburg (Iowa) tournament on September 28th and 29th.
