Jr. Indian Hills, Colo. Won both of his matches against Carleton in Concordia's 7-2 loss against the Knights. |
(Northfield, Minn.)-- Concordia started slowly by losing two of the three double matches and fell 7-2 to Carleton. The loss is the second of the weekend of the Cobbers, who dropped a 5-4 decision to St. Olaf on Saturday.
Jake Thomas (Jr., Indian Hills, Colo./Conifer HS) provided the highlights for Concordia as he won his singles match and teamed with Jordy Kamerling (Almere, The Netherlands, Moorhead HS) to win his double match. Thomas, playing in the number one singles spot, beat Carleton's Nick Quintas 6-4, 7-5. Thomas and Kamerling then downed the number one doubles team of Carleton 8-6.
Kamerling lost the closest match of the day at the number two single position. He was edged out by Mike Ottum in the tie-breaker 10-8.
Concordia will have an extended layoff
for spring break. The Cobbers' next match will be on March 13 when they
travel to Winona to take on St. Mary's.
