Listing of Former Cobber All-Americans
WACO, Texas-- Concordia
senior offensive tackle Nick Didier (Sr., Helena, Mont.) was named
to the prestigious American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American
Team. He is the only Concordia player to be named to the team, and one
of only two players from the MIAC to earn the distinction. Gustavus senior
linebacker Isaac Sieling (Sr., Watertown, Minn.) was named to the
team as a linebacker. The AFCA only designates one team as All-American,
unlike the two other national All-American teams that are handed out which
designate three teams as All-American.
The AFCA All-American designation
comes on the heels of his selection to the Football Gazette All-American
First Team. He will have a chance to become the first Concordia player
in the history of the program to earn All-American honors from all three
national publications since D3football.com began naming their All-American
team in 1999. The D3football All-American Team will be announced right
before the start of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on Saturday, December 21.
In the end, Didier will become
the most celebrated offensive lineman in the history of Concordia football.
He was one of only five Concordia players to be selected to play in the
Aztec Bowl, which pits an NCAA Division III All-Star Team against a team
of college All-Stars from Mexico. He was also only the fourth player in
program history to win the MIAC's Stam Award, which is given to the league's
Most Outstanding Lineman.
Didier completed his MIAC
career by being named to the MIAC All-Conference First Team for the second
straight year. He was one of the five co-captains for the Cobbers and was
the leader of the offensive line that helped Concordia lead the league
in total offense, scoring and pass efficiency and finish second in rushing.
