 Morgan Bain Named to the
NSCAA All-Central Region Team! It is the first time in her career that she has earned an All-Region honor, and she becomes the first player since 1996 when Angie Tohm ('97) was named to the NSCAA All-West Region Second Team. Bain was one of four MIAC players to be named to the NSCAA All-West Region Team. Defender Erin Hoople and forward Annie Borton of Macalester earned first-team honors, while Augsburg's Millie Suk was a third-team selection as a forward. Bain helped the Cobbers to their best season in program history. Concordia advance to the MIAC tournament championship game for the first time in school history and finished with a 10-1 conference record. The Cobbers won their first-ever playoff game in 2004 and were at one time ranked in the top 10 of the region. The team set school records for most overall games won, most conference games won and highest conference finish. Bain had a dream-like season in 2004, as she broke the MIAC record for goals and points in a conference season. For her efforts she was voted the league's Most Valuable Player. It is the first time in the history of Concordia women's soccer that a player has earned the league's highest award. In 11 conference games, Bain totaled 17 goals and three assists for 37 points. She broke the old conference records by two goals and five points. Overall, she finished with a school-record, 24 goals and 53 points. She broke the old school mark of 19 goals and 46 points. She now has 34 goals and 76 points in her first two seasons for Concordia. Bain led the MIAC in shots
taken, shots per game, goals and points and was second in the league in
game-winning goals.
