Finish Second in Northfield!
NORTHFIELD-- The Concordia
women’s cross country team finished second at the Carleton Invitational
on Saturday. The Cobbers were once again led by Natalie Hanson (Jr.,
Rogers, Minn./Elk River Area HS). Hanson finished second overall at the
meet. Her time of 19:26 was six seconds faster than the third place finisher.
It marks the first time all season that she has broken the 20-minute barrier
in a race.
As a team, the Cobbers had
four runners run faster than 21 minutes. Jennifer St. John (Sr.,
Billings, Mont./Billings West HS) finished ninth with a time of 20:20.
Next for the Cobbers was Julie Miller (Sr., Duluth, Minn./Duluth
East HS) who ran a 20:51 and finished 15th, and rounding out the top four
was Alissa Bilden (So., Miles City, Mont./Custer County HS), who
was 17th in a time of 20:59.
It is the third time this
season that the Cobbers have finished second in a meet. They also have
a first place finish, which means that Concordia has finished either first
or second in four of the team’s six meets this season.
Concordia will begin preparation
for the MIAC conference championship meet. The Cobbers will not compete
until the conference meet on Saturday, October 30 at Como Park in St. Paul.
