Abrahamson Powers Cobbers to Series Split With Hamline. 
MOORHEAD-- On a day when the wind was blowing out to centerfield, Concordia and Hamline combined for 32 runs and 48 hits as the two teams split their MIAC doubleheader in Moorhead. 

The Cobbers staged a dramatic, come-from-behind 10-9 victory in the first game, and then the Pipers outscored Concordia 8-5 in the second game.

Krys Abrahamson was the unlikely power hero for the Cobbers. After struggling to score any runs in the first four innings of the opener, Abrahamson's grand slam in the fifth inning gave Concordia a 7-4 lead. For Abrahamson it was her second collegiate home run and first of the season. 

The celebration was shortlived as Hamline countered with five runs in the top of the sixth inning. Concordia was unable to score in the sixth inning and trailed by two in the bottom of the seventh. After a pair of singles, Abrahamson stepped to the plate and belted an opposite field triple that tied the game at 9-9. Lindy Sparby reentered the game after starting the game as the Cobber pitcher and proceeded to drive in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to right field. 

Abrahamson finished the game with six RBI's. She was 3-for-4 and missed hitting for the cycle by a double.

Sparby started the game on the mound for Concordia and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs. Gretta Stritesky came on in relief and picked up her second win of the season as she pitched the final 1.2 innings and only allowed one hit. 

Besides Abrahamson, Mandy Pearson was 4-for-4 and scored three runs, and Lisa Kott went 3-for-4, drove in two runs and scored two runs.

Concordia scored 10 runs and collected 13 hits for the second consecutive game. The Cobbers also pulled off the feat in their 10-1 win over Bethel on Monday. 

In the second game, Hamline scored five runs in the third inning and never allowed Concordia to counter with a big inning of their own. The Pipers turned the tables on the Cobbers, knocking out 13 hits and coming up with the timely RBI. 

Stritesky picked up the loss on the hill for Concordia. She is now 2-4 on the season. At the plate, junior secondbaseman Tori Ehlert had the best game of her career. She went 3-for-3, scored a run and drove in another. Abrahamson added to her series' totals by going 2-for-4 and driving in two more runs. She was 5-for-8 in the two games and had a double, triple and home run. Her eight-RBI series is one of the best in program history. 

The Cobbers are now 3-3 in the MIAC this season, and after today's conference games, are tied for fourth place. Concordia is now 5-12 overall. The Pipers lose their first league game of the year. They are now 3-1 in the conference and 7-9 overall.

Concordia will complete theirtwo-series homestand on Saturday when they host Gustavus at 1:00pm.
