Myran Punches Ticket to NCAA National Meet.
Coming off his spectacular MIAC conference meet where he was awarded the Most Oustanding Performance of the Meet award, Nick Myran bolted to a 3:52.02 to win the 1500 meters and set a new school record at the Central Qualifying Meet held in Pella, Iowa.

Myran cut a full two seconds off of his time at the conference meet and now owns the seventh fastest time in the nation. Although the time is only a national provisional time in the event, at least 15 athletes will make the event at the national meet. Last year, the last qualifier made the field with a time of 3:53.64.

Myran is trying to finish off his terrific career in maroon and gold by earning All-American honors - an accomplishment that eluded him by only 0.90 seconds. 

Four other Cobbers competed in the Central qualifier. Ben Nylander was the next closest Cobber to earning a spot at nationals. He posted a 3:55.22 and missed the national provisioanl mark by .02 seconds. 

Kyle Halliday competed in the 800 meters, Josh Smith in the 400 meters and Nathan Lodermeier was the lone participant in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
