Meet 4: Cobber Duals - January 29, Noon Action Pictures - Meet Recap - Meet Results - Duals Meet Notables Meet Schedule - Meet Information
5 Individual Event Wins
+ 2 Relay Wins = 1 Cobber Dual Meet Crown!
The Cobbers finished the meet with a perfect 5-0 record. Concordia's toughest competition of the meet came from NAIA powerhouse Jamestown College. The Cobbers beat the Jimmies by a narrow 90-88 margin. Concordia also posted wins over Bemidji State, MSU-Moorhead, NDSU and UM-Morris. Jamestown finished second at the meet with a 4-1 final record. The middle distance and distance corps carried the weight of the scoring for Concordia. Jen St. John and Natalie Hanson pulled off double wins for the Cobbers. St. John, continuing to race at the elite level in the MIAC, won the 800 meters and 1500 meters. Her time in the 1500 meters (5:00.09) is the top time in the conference this year and her time in the 800 meters (2:24.90) places her second. Her time of 3:11.35 in the 1000 meters, which she ran last weekend at the Bison Open, is the top-ranked time in conference as well. Hanson pulled off her daily double by winning the 600 meters and the 1000 meters. She captured the 600 meters in a time of 1:40.86 and claimed the 1000 meters with a mark of 3:18.56. Her 600 meters time is fastest in the conference so far this season. Angie Pfeiffer was the only other track athlete to top the winning podium for the Cobbers. Pfeiffer won the 200 meters and claimed second in the 55 meters. Her winning time of 26.31 won the event by over a second and is currently the fastest time in the conference. Concordia had two relay teams win events. The Cobber distance medley relay team won the event with a time of 13:47.80 and the 4x400-meter relay team cruised to a four-second victory by posting a time of 4:09.73. That time is also tops in the MIAC this year. Two Cobber field athletes placed in the top three in the weight throw. Sarah Sorvaag finished second with a toss of 40-4 and Melissa Stave claimed third place with a throw of 39-4. Sorvaag's throw is farther than anyone threw for the Cobbers last season. Stave's toss is a personal best. Concordia will continue to
stay at home as they will host the Cobber Open on February 5 at noon.
