Northfield, Minn., Dec. 9 - Concordia-Moorhead won its second straight MIAC contest, downing Carleton 82-67 in women's basketball action here Wednesday.
Sophomore Brandi Myers (Glyndon, Minn.) scored 21 points, connecting on five of eight 3-pointers, and added 10 rebounds to carry the Cobbers (3-1 overall, 2-0 MIAC) past the Knights (2-3 overall, 0-2 MIAC). First-year center Jaime Olson (Randall, Minn.) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double of her own, with Hilary Schutt (Fy./Milnor, N.D.) contributing 13 points.
First-year forward Renée Willette (Minneapolis) paced Carleton with 24 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights trailed 44-31 at halftime and clawed to within five points, at 61-56, before a late Concordia surge carried the Cobbers to victory.
Bridget Seegers (So./Elkhorn, Wis.) scored 16 points, while Kathleen Exel (Jr./Mound, Minn.) and Sara Tompkins (So./Adams, Minn.) added 10 points a piece.
Carleton next travels to
St. Mary's on Dec. 12, while Concordia
hosts St. Benedict Saturday at 3:00.
