9/6/97 Craig played extensively in the 17-7

After leading the Cobbers with 12 tackles at Gustavus on Sept. 14,
1996, Craig suffered a 4th quarter knee injury that kept him out the rest
of the 1996 season. Gilbert had 21 tackles in his first two games in 1996.
Coach Jim Christopherson's 1997 pre-season Comments:
One of the most talented athletes on the team, Craig is coming off a knee injury that wiped out the 1996 season in the second game against Gustavus. Now healed, he is back at linebacker playing like he did in the 1995 championship year.
