Men Cobbers set new records
The Concordia College men's basketball team finished seventh in the MIAC with a win-loss record of 9-11 and an overall record of 13-12.
Season highlights for the team included setting a Cobber record for highest freethrow percentage in one game, 72.5, and highest field goal percentage in one game, 67.5. Both records were set against the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, on Jan.30.
The team also established a new point differential by holding opposing
teams to an average of 68 points per game and scoring an average of 73
points. The new mark a differential of five points exceeds the
previous
record of three points set during the 1981-82 season.
Senior
co-captain Bradford Willis, a hospital administration major from Wadena,
Minn., was named to the MIAC all-conference team. Juniors Daniel Douglas
from Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Darrel Pederson from Lake Park, Minn., were
named members of the MIAC all conference honorable mention team. The selection
was Douglas' second straight
Willis led the team in scoring with a 13.4 points-per game-average,
followed by Pederson with 13.2. Pederson, who led the team in rebounds,
6.8 per game, was also voted the team's most valuable player.
