Men's Baketball team excels on
home court
The Cobber men's basketball team had their ups and downs as they closed out their season with an MIAC record of 9-11 and 12-13 overall. Eight-year coach John Eidsness, assisted by Andy Askegaard and Sonny Gulsvig, led the senior dominated starting line-up to several big victories offsetting some frustrating defeats.
The men compiled an outstanding 10-3 record at home but lost close games away to finish 2-10 on the road.
Among the highlights was defeating Moorhead State University twice, along with conference winner St. John's and second-place conference finisher, Bethel.
One player, senior Darrel Pederson from Lake Park, Minn., was named to the all-conference team. According to Eidsness, Pederson had a fantastic year, leading the conference in scoring with a game average of 20.3 points. This year alone, Pederson racked up 498 points for a career total of 921. Only six other players in Concordia's history have bettered that single-season mark.
