Men's basketball ends strong
Coach John Eidsness' 13th season at Concordia got off to a slow start but finished strong. The running Cobbers captured six of their last eight games, including wins over MIAC co-champions Gustavus and St. Thomas in the year's final two contests. The Cobbers ended the year with a 11-14 record, 9-11 and tied for seventh place in the MIAC.
The Cobbers were led by all MIAC senior center Eric Gardner, Fargo, N.D., who shot 62 percent from the field and averaged 13.4 points per game. Junior guard Bryan Flam, Jamestown, ND., came back from last season's foot injury to average 12.8 points. And senior Mike Hilley, Fergus Falls, Minn., added valuable scoring from the outside, averaging 12.3 points per game.
