The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will conduct their 1996 pre-season training camp at Concordia's baseball field beginning May 15 and former Cobber Chris Coste will be a part of it.
We are really excited about working with the Concordia baseball program, said RedHawks General Manager John Dittrich. Concordia College has an excellent facility and can provide us with everything we need to run a quality pre-season training camp.
The RedHawks practices and scrimmages will be open to the public.
The colors on the field may be red and black, but there will be some maroon and gold present as Coste and the team have reached a tentative agreement for the 1996 season.
I can't say this is a dream because I never thought Fargo-Moorhead would ever have a professional baseball team, said Coste. I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for the RedHawks. it's definitely a great place to start and I hope it helps me continue to a higher level.
Coste, named MIAC Most Valuable Player in each of his three years at Concordia, led the Cobbers to their first outright conference title in 1995 with a 30-8 record.
Coste set new Cobber records with a .442 batting average, 19 home runs, 110 runs batted in and a 2.11 earned run average.
