2/27/01 Joe Snowden Named to All-MIAC Team
Snowden, a transfer from North Dakota State University, led the team
in scoring, 3-point field goals and minutes played. He was sixth in the
league in scoring with a 16.45 points per game average. He helped the Cobbers
make the MIAC playoffs for the first time since the 1995-96 season, and
keyed the first round upset of St. Thomas in the playoff tournament. His
most memorable game came in December when he scored 42 points against Willamette
(OR) in the title game of the University of Redlands Tournament. For his
performance in that tournament he was named the MIAC player of the week.

Concordia senior guard Joe Snowden (St. Paul, MN) was named the MIAC
player of the week for his performance in the University of Redlands Tournament
this past weekend. Snowden averaged 26.3 points in three games as he helped
Concordia win the tournament. His 42 point performance in the championship
game, a 109-107 quadruple overtime victory over Willamette (OR), was on
of the top three point performances in a single game in school history.
He started the tournament with 14 points
against previously unbeaten Chapman(CA)and then put up 23 points in
the Cobbers semifinal victory over Redlands. Snowden was 25-for-56(.446)
from the field in the tournament and shot a scorching 15-for-30(.500) from
three point range. For his outstanding three game performance he was named
the tournament MVP.
