Cobber Women's Basketball 1978-79

Women cagers end season at Missouri tournament

Concordia's women's baskethall team had a fine year, capped with an appearance in the Region 6 tournament of the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women in Missouri in mid-March.

Coach Collette Foistad's team went into that event with a 26-5 record overall after tying for the conference championship with Valley City (N.D.) State College and the University of Minnesota Morris, each with 6-1 records. The team also won the North Dakota State University Holiday Tournament and repeated as winner of the Minnesota Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Tournament in Minneapolis Named to the All-Conference team were senior Diana Anderson of Starkweather, N.D., and Kathy Meyer a junior from Mayville, ND. Selected to the All-Tournament team in the Cobbers' repeat victory among Minnesota schools were Meyer; Coral Beske, a junior from Lake Park, Minn.; and Mary Schultz, a junior from Baker, Minn.
