Gustavus tops Concordia 2-1

(St. Peter, Minn. --Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999) --
Gustavus senior forward Greg Holker beat Concordia goalkeeper Nate Sollum from 18-yards out with 1:04 (88:56) left in regulation play to give the Gusties an exciting 2-1 win over the Cobbers in St. Peter.  With the victory, Gustavus improves to 5-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the MIAC while Concordia falls to 2-4-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the MIAC.

     Gustavus opened the scoring in the match when Jacob Valento found the net midway through the second half at 65:13.  Concordia tied up the match when Josh Spaulding scored 13 minutes later at 75:38.  Spaulding’s goal was assisted by Eric Singer.

     Gustavus’ Holker has had a history of clutch goals against Concordia as this is the third game-winning goal he has scored against the Cobbers in his four-year career for the Gusties.
