9/13 Concordia Win Streak Reaches Five.
Concordia extended their unbeaten streak to five games as they downed
Augsburg 3-1 in the
MIAC opener. Augsburg won the first game 15-10 but then the Cobbers
took control and won the next three games (15-9, 15-12, 15-4) to seal the
victory. Sam Scariano (Sr., Billings MT, Billings Senior H.S.) led the
Cobbers and all players with 18 kills in the match. Stacy Davis (Sr.,
Wadena MN, Wadena H.S.) and Katrina Wilberts (So., Breckenridge Mn, Breckenridge
H.S.) each had 13 kills in support of the Cobber offense that continues
to roll. Concordia, 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MIAC, has now won
five straight matches after dropping their season opener to MSU-Moorhead.
Augsburg dropped to
2-7 on the year and 0-1 in the MIAC. The Cobbers return to action on
Friday and Saturday when they
travel to St. Joseph, MN to play in the St. Benedict Holiday Inn-Vitational.
