Kris Kuehl ('92, Storden, MN) Finished Eighth at the 2001 World Track and Field Championships held in Alberta, Canada on August 10th.

2001 Women's Track and Field World Championships

8/10 Former Concordia All-American Track Star Kris Kuehl Finishes 8th at the World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.

Kris Kuehl, a 1992 Concordia graduate, finished eighth in the Discus Throw at the World Championships in Edmonton, Alberta. Her throw of  62.63m (205'5") in the preliminary round placed her in sixth place heading into the finals. In the finals, her toss of 61.04m (200'3") earned her an eighth place for the competition. It is the highest finish in her career at a World Championship or Olympic meet, and it was also the first time she has qualified for the finals in an event of that magnitude.

She is currently ranked 12th in the world in the discus by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF), and second in the United States.
