2/15 Concordia Falls at St. John's
91-57.
Concordia never got on track, fell victim to ice-cold shooting and
lost 91-57 to league-leading St. John's. The Cobbers came out in the first
half and shot 29 percent (9-for-31) from the field and fell behind 46-21
at half. It was a case of deja vu for the Cobbers as last time the two
teams met, Concordia scored 19 points in the first half, couldn't recover
and lost 69-52. The Cobbers were led by Kermit Cooper's (Sr., Freeport,
BAH) who put up a team-high 15 points and nine rebounds. It is the fourth
straight game that Cooper has led the team in both categories. Nathan Ohme
(Fr., Bloomington, MN) came off the bench to add a career-high 10 points
in eight minutes in the second half.
Concordia shot 37 percent (24-for-65) from the field for the game, while St. John's shot 57 percent (34-for-60).
Concordia slips to 10-9 in the MIAC and 13-10 overall, and will finish in the sixth spot in the MIAC. St. John's continues to roll as they win for the 12th straight time. They are now 16-3 in the MIAC and 18-5 overall.
The Cobbers wrap up the regular season on Saturday at home against Bethel
at 3:00. They will then go on the road for the first round of the MIAC
tournament on Tuesday at 7:30. They will play the team that finishes third
in the MIAC, which could end up to be Gustavus, Bethel or St. Thomas.
