1/20 Concordia Starts Hot, Outdistances Bethel 82-58.
Concordia started the game on a 11-0 run, and went on to outdistance Bethel 82-58. The Cobbers were red-hot from the field in the first half as they took a 23 point lead at haltime.Brandi Myers (Sr, Glyndon, MN) led the charge by scoring all of her game high 24 points in the first half. She was a torrid 6-for-9 from 3-point range in the opening stanza. As a team in the first half Concordia shot 58% (7-for-12) from behind the arc, and 40% (16-for-40)from the field.

After the half Concordia continued to widen the margin to 34 points, and were able to play all players down the stretch. The two teams combined to shoot 70 free throws in a marathon game that lasted almost two hours. The Cobbers were able to force the ball inside after the Royals tried in vain to neutralize Concordia's wing shooting. Besides Myers 24 points, Mandy Berggren (Jr., Cokato, MN) contributed 14 points. Sarah Jacobson (Sr., Fargo, ND) continued her strong play and finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

Concordia has now won four straight. With the victory the Cobbers finish the first half of the MIAC season at 9-2 and 11-3 overall. Bethel falls to 2-8 in league play and 2-11 overall. The Cobbers resume play on Wednesday, January 24th,  when they travel to St. Paul to take on Hamline at 5:30.
