Two Concordia women's basketball players were honored with Lutheran Brotherhood All-American Honors. Senior Brandi Myers (Glyndon, Minn.) was named First Team All-American and Sara Spears (Spicer, Minn.) was named Second Team All-American. Fifteen players from 21 NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA colleges were named to the team. “Lutheran colleges throughout the country are encouraging students to excel through sports and other activities, including academics,” said David Angstadt, chief marketing officer, Lutheran Brotherhood. “These basketball stars are also achievers in the classroom and even give back to the community in their spare time.” The Lutheran Brotherhood Lutheran College All-American basketball teams honor outstanding players at Lutheran colleges across the country. Athletes were nominated by sports information directors (SIDs) at their institutions. A selection committee comprised of SIDs from Lutheran colleges, sports writers and Lutheran Brotherhood representatives determined the final team. It is the second consecutive year that Myers has been honored by the
Lutheran Brotherhood organization. Last year she was named to the Honorable
mention All-American team. It is the first year for Spears to be
honored with the award. (More
