Chance Buzzell Sr. Anoka, Minn. Scored two goals for the second consecutive game in the Cobbers 4-0 victory over Northland College.

9/02 Concordia Gains 2nd Shutout in a Row, Defeats Northland 4-0.
Concordia received two goals from senior co-captain Chance Buzzell (Anoka, Minn.) and a rock solid defensive effort to down Northland College 4-0. It was the second day in a row that the Cobbers have shut out an opponent, and also the second game that Buzzell has tallied twice.

The Cobbers built a 2-0 lead at the break behind a breakaway goal from Buzzell and a rebound shot from first year player Zach Eidenschink (Detroit Lakes, Minn.). In the second half Concordia put the game out of reach in a span of 13 minutes. First Buzzell knocked home a volley after receiving a pass from Dustin Allard (Fr., Helena, Mont.) and then Jason VanValkenburg (So., Fargo, N.Dak.) finished off a midfield passing sequence that started with back Scott Noland (Sr., Minnewaska, Minn.), went through Kevin Roos (Sr., Fargo, N.Dak.), and ended with VanValkenburg slotting the ball into the Northland net.

Concordia held a lopsided 30-3 advantage in shots, and for the weekend outshot opponent's 63-11. Junior Eric Dunn (Great Falls, Mont.) had to make only one save in picking up his first career shutout.

The Cobbers will travel to Decorah, Iowa next weekend to compete in the Luther tournament.
