Cobbers Get Pounded by Gustavus 90-53.
Concordia could only muster 17 points in the first half and paid the price for the lack of offense, losing 90-53 to Gustavus.

The Cobbers committed 17 turnovers in the first half and in the process dug themselves a 42-17 halftime deficit.
They were never able to recover from the 25-point margin in the second half and ended up losing the game by 37. Gustavus led by as many as 45 points in the second half before the Cobbers were able to chip away in the final minutes.

No Concordia player was able to break the 10-point barrier, as Jared Swanson (Jr., Morris, Minn.) and Soren Nelson (Fr., Twin Valley, Minn.) led the team with eight points. Derek Nelson poured in 24 points for the Gusties in the winning effort. Four different Gustavus players scored in double figures, and all totaled, 10 different players scored at least two points.

Both squads took 57 shots in the game. Concordia converted on 23 for a 40 percent shooting percentage from the field. Gustavus knocked down 34 for a 59 percent shooting afternoon. Gustavus held the edge in rebounding as well. The Gusties out rebounded the Cobbers 39-25. For the game, Concordia was plagued by 23 turnovers and Gustavus had 14 miscues.

Concordia will host MIAC leader St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 6th at 7:30. Gustavus travels to St. Paul to take on Macalester on Wednesday at 7:30.
