Three Cobbers Earn MIAC Postseason
Honors.
Three junior hockey players earned MIAC postseason
honors. Antonio Castaneda (Moorhead, Minn.)
and Treavor Peterson (Thief River Falls, Minn.) were named to the
MIAC 2001-02 All-Conference Team, and Aaron Marsh (Summerland, BC)
was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. It is the
first postseason award for all three players.
Castaneda was tied for the team lead in points with 23. He scored 10 goals and collected 13 assists on the year. It is his highest point total in his three years as a member of the Cobber hockey team. He led the team in game-winning goals, shots taken and face-offs won. In conference play, he contributed 16 points, which placed him 14th in the league in overall points.
Peterson led all Cobber defensemen in scoring with 20 points. He also led the team in assists, with 17. Peterson finished the year third in the league in defenseman scoring, with 11 points in 15 league games.
Marsh was tied with Castaneda for the team lead in points. He finished the season with 10 goals and 13 assists. He finished second on the team in assists, power play goals (4) and shots taken (46).
