Cobbers Sweep St. Kate's in Opening Match of the MIAC.

Concordia was pushed in all three games but came away unscathed in winning their opening match of the MIAC season 3-0 over St. Kate's.
The Cobbers used a balanced attack to down the Wildcats 30-28, 30-22, 30-22. Four Concordia players had at least nine kills in the match and seven players had at least three kills. A trio of attackers led the way, Jacki Barten (So., Melrose, Minn.), Amy Fitzner (So., Valley City, ND) and Kris Sather (So., Fosston, Minn.) all finished with 10 kills. Danielle Schmiesing (So., Villard, Minn.) collected nine in the three-game match. Jessica Walden (So., Hawley, Minn.) led all players with 36 assists.
Concordia improves to 11-2 on the season, their best start since the program started in 1976.
The Cobbers will take a one-match layoff from MIAC when they play at
Mayville State on Thursday, September 19th at 7:00pm. They will return
to league action on Wednesday, September 25th when they host St. Thomas
at 7:30pm.
