Gustavus won the title by shooting a 587 (298-289) and claiming a 14-shot
victory over second place St. John's. The title propeeled the Gusties to
the NCAA Division III Championship trophy in the spring of 2004. Last year's
individual medalist was Josh Sherlin (Sr., Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska
Are HS) of St. John's. Sherlin, who shot a four-under-par 140 (70-70),
will be back to defend his title in 2004. He is looking to become the first
back-to-back individual champion in the past 10 years of the event.
