Deuces Are Wild for the Cobbers at SD Tech Invite.
(RAPID CITY, S.D.)-- For the second straight week, Concordia finished second and for the second consecutive week, the Cobbers were led by NCAA National Championship Meet hopeful Nick Myran (Sr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS).

Myran ran a 27:01.62 over the 8,000 meter course and posted his highest finish of the season. He was less than 19 seconds behind the individual meet winner, Zach Kintsley of Black Hills State University. Last weekend, Myran led Concordia by running a 27:11.00 and placing sixth at the St. John's Invitational.

As a team, Concordia finished the South Dakota Tech Invite with a total score of 56, placing all five of their top runners in the top 20 scoring positions in the meet.

Ben Nylander (Sr., Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) was the team's number two runner for the second consecutive week as he finished sixth in a time of 29:00.45. Also for the second consecutive week, Dan Bye (So., Mankato, Minn./Mankato Loyola HS) finished in the number three slot for the Cobbers. Bye ran a 30:23.29 and finished 13th. It is his first top 15 finish in a multi-team event in his collegiate career.

Rounding out the top five for the Cobbers were a pair of freshman. Matt Putratz (Fr., Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa HS) finished in a time of 30:59.91 and Rocky Jantzen (Fr., Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek HS) was three spots behind with a final time of 31:20.87.

The next competition for Concordia will be at the NCAA pre-National Meet at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, October 1 at 3:00pm.
