Amanda Glas was the lone Cobber individual champion. She won the javelin at this competition for the second consecutive year, last year in Manitou Classic meet record fashion. This year with a "new" javelin mark of 112-8. Also, in the javelin teammates Kelly Seyfert (110-4) and Jessica Edwards (107-8) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sara Grineski finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with yet another
provisional national qualifying performance of 15.08. Angie Strom
joined her in finals with a personal best time of 16.00 in the prelims.
Angie finished eighth. Sara was also second in the 400 meter
hurdles with a person best 65.20 moving to #3 on the all-time Cobber list.
Margaret Cropp followed with a personal best and all-time Cobber #8 performance
of 69.66.
Jordi Kortan ran a personal best 60.27 400 moving her to the #8 spot on Concordia's all-time list.
The relay highlights included the 4x100 of Sara Grineski, Margaret Cropp, Jordi Kortan, and Dashelle Purcell sprinting to a school all-time #9 performance of 51.80. The 4x400 ran a outdoor seasonal best of 4:11.79 for seventh place. The team included Jordi Kortan, Sommer Jalbert, Joanne Maki, and Julie Engh.
Rachel Aufforth was eighth in the shot put (37-9.5) and threw a personal best in the hammer throw of 116-8 (ties #9 all-time).
All-American Laura Utke returned to action after a couple of weeks off due to illness and placed sixth in the hammer throw with a near provisional national qualifying 145-11.
Maria DeBoer's 125-7 fling was sixth in the discus and Heidi Brenden ran a 4:47.15 for sixth in the 1500 meters.
Finishing out the Cobber scoring was Lisa Hodapp's eighth in the pole vault. The 9-0 jump ties her own School Record from earlier this season.
Also, for the first time in four seasons Concordia had runners compete
in the 10,000 meter run. Beth Moen ran a MIAC championships qualifying
43:00.87 and Carly Heuple followed with a 43:33.71 10K debut.
