Sr. Moorhead, MN Scored the game winning goal in overtime against St. Mary's for the second straight year in a row |
10/7 Concordia wins in overtime at St. Mary's 2-1.
In an eerie case of deja vu, Jordi Kortan (Sr., Moorhead, MN) scored
the game winning goal in overtime for the second straight year against
St. Mary's. In 1999, the Cobbers tied the Cardinals late in the game setting
up Kortan's heroics and this year the story line was the same. Jessica
Spaulding converted a penalty kick at 71:40 to tie the game ,and in overtime
Kortan stepped into the spotlight and turned a Cardinal miscue into game
winner part II.
With the win Concordia moves to 1-3 in the MIAC and 6-4 overall. The
loss puts St. Mary's at 2-3-1 in league play and 5-6-1 overall. The Cobbers
are in action on Thursday when they host Hamline at 4:00 in another MIAC
matchup.
