2000 Season Preview
The Concordia College women's soccer team will
be looking to break into new ground this fall. They will have a new coach
for the first time since 1987 and several sophomores that provided a spark
at the end of last year will be back to help the Cobbers make a run at
the top of the MIAC. First year women's coach Jim
Cella, who is also the men's coach, will be hoping the experience the
women have will propel them to a winning record in the MIAC, something
they haven't had since 1986. Leading the way will be two forwards
who have shown the knack for putting the ball in the net, they are; Jordi
Kortan (Sr., Moorhead MN, Moorhead HS.) who had 16 goals last year
and Kendra Lee (So., Jamestown ND,
Jamestown H.S.) who had 43 points in 1999. Anchoring the defense will be
Kristen
Orme (So., Mendota Heights MN, Cretin-Derham Hall H.S.) who was Honorable
Mention All-MIAC last year and also the team's rookie of the year.
