Concordia broke the spell that the NCHA teams have cast on them this season. After posting a winless 0-3-1 record against Wisconsin schools, the Cobbers smashed the curse and blanked St. Scholastica 9-0. Concordia found relief in the sweater of Mark Schiller (Sr., Detroit Lakes, MN) who hammered home three goals and two assists. His five point outburst led the Cobbers to their biggest offensive output of the season.

Concordia grabbed the game early as captain Mike Gast (Sr., Fargo, ND) scored an unassisted goal at 4:18 of the first and the Cobbers never looked back. Concordia led 3-0 after one and 5-0 after the second intermission. Concordia's All-American goalie Bryan Howard (Sr., Gold River, CA) held the Saints scoreless, and recorded his school record tenth career shutout. He made 21 saves on the night and lowered his goals against average to 2.18. Along with Schiller and Gast the Cobbers also received multiple point nights from Jeff Styba (So., Shoreview, MN), Tony Castaneda (So., Moorhead, MN), Jason DiMatteo (Sr., Anchorage, AK) and Jon Tranby (Sr., Moorhead, MN).

With the win Concordia moves to 6-3-2 on the year while St. Scholastica falls to 5-10. The Cobbers across state lines to take on UW-Superior, tomorrow at 7:00. The game is a rematch of last year's NCAA quarerfinal series. The Pointers swept the series 3-2 and 4-1. UW-Superior is unbeaten in non-conference play and is 11-3 overall.
