1/06 Concordia Continues Wisconsin Drought, Loses to UW-Superior 4-2.
Concordia continued to struggle NCHA opponents as they dropped a hard fought 4-2 decision to UW-Superior. The Cobbers have four losses on the season, all of them to NCHA teams. Coming into the game Concordia had managed only a win and a tie in five games against their Wisconsin counterparts. The game featured a rematch of last year's NCAA quarterfinal series, the Yellow Jackets swept Concordia 3-2 and 4-1, and this year the storyline remained the same.

This time Concordia was victimized by two-goal barrage in 16 seconds mid way through the third period. With the score tied at two, Superior scored twice within 16 seconds, and held on to post their eleventh straight non-conference victory this season. After playing a scoreless first period the Cobbers received goals from Andy Vix (Fr., Rochester, MN) and Jon Tranby (Sr., Moorhead, MN) to take a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Yellow Jackets scored at the 4:10 mark in the third which set the stage for the knockout 1-2 punch at 10:34 and 10:50.

UW-Superior outshot Concordia 36-18 and both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Cobbers stumble to 6-4-2 on the season while Superior jumps to 12-3 overall. Concordia ends their crossover games with a 1-4-1 record. Superior put up a perfect 7-0 against the MIAC. Concordia resumes MIAC action with a key series at St. Thomas on January 12th and 13th.
