7/12 Deb Lien Resigns as Head Women's Hockey Coach.
Concordia-Moorhead athletic director, Dr. Armin Pipho, announced that second year head women's hockey coach Deb Lien has resigned her position at Concordia effective August 1st. She was also the assistant women's softball coach and an instructor in the physical education department. Lien is  stepping down to take another full-time position in a different career field.

5/07 2001-2002 Women's Hockey Schedule Now Online.

4/03 Concordia Women's Hockey to Assist at Local Hockey Clinic.
On April 1st and 8th, 2001 the Concordia College women's hockey team will be running a girls' hockey clinic from 2:30-4:30 at the Moorhead Youth Hockey Arena.  They will be assisting the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association with one of their clinics to get young girls involved in the sport of hockey.

2/13 Shyla Wilson Named MIAC Player of the Week.
For the second straight week a member of the Concordia women's hockey team has been awarded the MIAC player of the Week honor. Last week forward Katie Jacques (So., Tempe, AZ) was honored, and this week goaltender Shyla Wilson (So., Cohasset, MN, Grand Rapids, HS) was named the league's outstanding player. 

Wilson stopped 76 of the 79 shots she faced in Concordia's weekend split with league-leading St. Mary's. On Friday night she stopped 38 shots, and kept the Cobbers close until midway through the third period. On Saturday she recorded her first shutout of the season by stopping all 38 shots she faced. It was only the third time St. Mary's has been shut out this season, and the win broke the Cardinals nine game win streak. The victory marks the second straight weekend Concordia has beaten a nationally ranked team. Last weekend the Cobbers swept UW-Superior, who was ranked seventh at the time.

2/6 Katie Jacques Named MIAC Co-Player of the Week.
Concordia sophomore forward Katie Jacques  (Tempe, AZ) was named the MIAC Co-Player of the Week. She scored six of the seven goals for Concordia in the Cobbers two-game sweep of seventh ranked UW-Superior. On Friday night she scored the first goal and the last goal in Concordia's 3-1 victory. On Saturday she scored all four goals in a 4-1 win. Coming into the series the Yellowjackets were 13-1 and ranked seventh in the latest USCHO poll. With the two wins Concordia improves to 11-7-0 on the year. The 11 wins sets a school record for most wins in a season. For the season Jacques has 26 goals, also a school record, and is third in the MIAC in goals scored.

10/29 2000-2001 Hockey Preview
The 2000-2001 season will be the second year as a varsity program for the Concordia College women's hockey team, and coach Deb Lien is hoping to build up from where the team left off last season. The Cobbers finished their first year with a respectable 9-15 record and came up with big wins against conference rival St. Ben's and non-conference foe UW-River Falls. 

This years team will have a strong backbone with returning All-MIAC Honorable Mention goalie Shyla Wilson (So., Cohasset, MN). Wilson stopped a titanic 750 shots in 20 games last season. She led the MIAC in saves and was second in the league in save percentage. The Cobbers also are hoping that a year of seasoning will help their offensive production as they return their top six scorers from a year ago. Leading the offensive charge will be Sandra Johansson (Jr., Jonstorp, Sweden) , Annie Knierim (So., Glasgow, MT) and Katie Jacques (So., Tempe, AZ). The big question mark will be on the blue line where the shifting of Johansson should strengthen the corps. Hope Aune (Sr., Brainerd, MN) and newcomer Anna Birgenheier (Sheridan, WY) will be counted on to add depth to the defense. The offense will feature Knierim and Jacques along with Lindsay Kurtis (Fr., Phoenix, AZ).

Concordia will be helped by the MIAC schedule which finds them playing four of the first six conference games at home, including the opening series against St. Ben's. The non conference schedule is  highlighted by an away series against the University of Manitoba and a home series against UW-Superior.

If the Cobbers can find the right mix of defense and offense, then the transition from first to second year will be a smooth one and the team can look towards climbing the ladder towards the MIAC playoffs.
