Chance Buzzell Sr. Anoka, Minn. Scored two goals in Concordia's 3-0 opening game win over Northland Baptist.

9/01 Concordia Shuts Out Northland Baptist 3-0.
Senior captain Chance Buzzell (Anoka, Minn.) scored two goals as Concordia shut out Northland Baptist 3-0 in the opening game of the 2001 season. Buzzell's two second half goals distanced the Cobbers from the Pioneers. Concordia's defense was able to shut down Northland Baptist's offense throughout the game as sophomore goaltender Kris Overby (So., Fargo, N. Dak.) only had to make one save to collect his first shutout of the season.

Jerry Nathan (So., Fargo, N. Dak.) opened the scoring at 37:23 when he volleyed home a shot off a pass from Cyle Cavett (So., Fargo, N. Dak.). That set the stage for Buzzell and teammate Kevin Roos  (Sr., Fargo, N. Dak.). Roos assisted on both Buzzell's goals as the Cobbers opened the year with the St. John's tournament.
