Cobbers Take a Beating, But Prevail Over St. Scholastica 3-2.
Concordia never trailed for the entire 90 minutes, in a game that saw St. Scholastica whistled for over 30 fouls, and prevailed 3-2.

The Cobbers took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Jerry Nathan (So., Fargo, N.Dak.) slammed home a cross from Chance Buzzell (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) at 18:10. For Nathan it was his third goal of the season. The one-goal lead stood until 17 minutes into the second half when first year player Dustin Allard (Helena, Mont.) added his 11th goal of the year. The Saints constant fouling took its toll on the Cobbers, as the referee was unable to control the flow of the game. Their persistance paid off in the 65th minute when Seth Maxim volleyed home a shot from 25 yards out, to cut the lead to 2-1.

Concordia upped the margin again in the 75th minute when Kevin Roos (Sr., Fargo, N.Dak.) finished off a heading combination from Nathan and Allard. St. Scholastica once again stepped up the physical play, and took advantage of a turnover in midfield when forward Justin Patterson pushed his way to get free to fire a shot past Cobber keeper Kris Overby (So., Fargo, N.Dak.) at 84:48.

The Cobbers closed out the remaining five minute to secure thier 11th win of the season. Overby finished the game with two save, while Saints goalie Jake Lammi had to turn away nine Concordia scoring chances. The Cobbers will resume MIAC play when they travel to St. Paul on Saturday, October 27th to take on St. Thomas at 11:00.
