Cobbers Make Short Work of St. Kate's, Win 3-0.

Led Concordia in kills in their 3-0 sweep over St. Kate's. 

(St. Paul, Minn.)-- Concordia made short work of St. Kate's, sweeping the Wildcats in three straight games and upping their conference record to 5-2. The Cobbers, who pushed their overall record to 16-6, are currently tied for third place with Bethel. Concordia has now won three straight and seven of the past nine.

Amy Fitzner (Jr., Valley City, N.Dak./Valley City HS) continued to be the dominant force for the Cobbers' frontline as she finished with a match-high 14 kills. It is the fourth time in the past five matches that she has led the team in kills. She also had a .419 attack percentage. Kris Sather (Fosston, Minn./Fosston HS) and Jacki Barten (Jr., Melrose, Minn./Melrose HS) were the other two Cobbers who finished the match with double-digit kills. Sather knocked down 11 winners and had a match-high .500 attacking percentage. Barten had 10 kills. Jessica Walden (Jr. Hawley, Minn./Hawley HS) had 21 assists in the winning effort.

The Cobbers will return home to play a weekend doubleheader. Concordia will host Gustavus on Friday, October 17 at 7:30pm and then turn around and play Carleton on Saturday, October 18 at 3:00pm. Both matches will be played in Memorial Auditorium.
