Concordia goaltender Bryan Howard stopped all 20 St. Olaf shots, and posted his second consecutive shutout, as the Cobbers bested the Oles in MIAC hockey action. Howard, who blanked the Oles on Friday night, now has a Concordia record of 158 straight minutes without letting up a goal.
Derek Selch scored the game-winning goal at 15:19 of the second period. Ken Putt added an insurance goal with 22 seconds left in the second period. The goal came on the power play, and was the result of a great passing sequence between Putt, B.J. Knutson and Rob Gramer.
With the win the Cobbers go to 8-3-1 in the MIAC and 12-8-1 overall.
The Oles drop to 3-8-1 and 8-12-1. Concordia travels to Augsburg on Friday
and Saturday to take on the defending MIAC champions in a pivotal two-game
series.
