at Meadows Sat and Village Green Sun.
Winds were gusting 20-30 from the south, clear, 80 degrees both days

Concordia wins third consecutive Minnesota State Tournament

Concordia-Moorhead captured their third consecutive Minnesota State Women's College Golf Tournament today at Village Green Golf Course in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Cobbers posted a two day total of 665, 22 shots ahead of second place Gustavus at 687. Minnesota St. Mankato was third at 697 and St. Thomas was 4th at 699.

Concordia's Jenni Kovash and Kari Weidner shared tournament Medalist honors with 163 totals. Kovash had the low round today with an 80. Both days of the tournament were played in strong, gusty south winds. Concordia's Christie Strecker, Saturday's first round leader, placed 3rd with a 167 total.

The top ten golfers in the tournament earned All-State honors from the Minnesota Women's Golf Coaches Association, the sponsor of this tournament.

Concordia's head coach Duane Siverson was named MWGCA Coach of the Year. St. Cloud State's Jessica Simonson, who tied for 6th with 169 was named MWGCA Player of the Year.
