Hello from Concordia College!  Here is information on the Cobber High School Indoor Track and Field Invitational scheduled Saturday, March 19, 2005, 1:00 p.m.

This year the date is too early for any schools from Minnesota to meet practice requirements.  The following teams from North Dakota have accepted our invitation: Central Cass, Devils Lake, Drayton, Fargo North, Four Winds, GF Red River, Kindred, Langdon, Leeds, Oak Grove, Valley City, Wahpeton, and Wyndmere.  Due to the State Class B Boy’s Basketball Tournament that weekend some teams might have only a partial representation.  Regardless, this should be an outstanding competition to check your team’s early season form.  We THANK YOU for your participation in the fourth annual Cobber High School Indoor Track and Field Invitational.

We will supply an automatic computer timing system and a back-up automatic video timing system, all of the workers, plus compile all entries and results as part of your entry fee.  Overall, we will provide a quality meet where the coaches can coach and watch without being distracted by the chores of the meet itself.  We will have ribbons for the top 8 places and team champion plaques.

The entry fee will be $50.00 per team (each gender from a school is considered a separate team), so $100.00 per school running both boys and girls.  Payment will be due the day of the meet.  Make checks payable to Concordia College.

The Olson Sports and Fitness Forum (new in 1994, resurfaced in 2004) features a six lane, flat 200 meter track with an EPDM encapsulated surface.  No spikes are allowed in your track shoes.  We ask that you police and pick up the areas of your team camps.  All team camps must be on the track’s perimeter or infield.  No camps in the balconies.

Meet entries will be due Friday, March 18 by 5:00 p.m.  We will enter all your meet entries into the computers Friday night in order to generate the heat and flight sheets.  Email entries to gzlarson@cord.edu.  The week of the meet Garrick will email to you the email entry procedure.  When doing your entries make sure to include a seed time, distance or height.  This will insure everyone gets in a fair heat.  If this is your first meet use last year’s results or best guess estimates.  Entrants without seed times are placed by the computer in the slowest heat or least preferred lanes.

TRACK EVENTS (all events girls first, followed by boys)
All events are timed finals – fastest heats running first except the 4 x 400 Relay in which the fastest heat will run last.

FIELD EVENTS

1:00 p.m.  (times are approximate – will attempt to run ahead of schedule)
- Shot Put – girls to be followed by boys – 3 prelim throws / top 8 to finals for 3 additional throws
- High Jump – boys to be followed by girls
- Pole Vault - boys to be followed by girls
- Horizontal jumps will be 4 jumps and no finals (times are approximate – will attempt to run ahead of schedule)
- 1:00- 2:15 - Long Jump – girls flights.
- 2:45- 4:00 - Long Jump – boys flights
- 4:30- 5:45 - Triple Jump – cafeteria style boys and girls together, to follow boys long jump
