Jason was named MIAC offensive player of the week for his stellar
 performance in Concordia's 26-9 homecoming victory over
 Hamline. Braaten ran for 181 yards on 20 carries.

8/10/99
 Jason was a conference MVP and All-State selection while at Perham HS. 

Late in the 1998 season he was making a case for more playing time in the Cobber backfield at halfback with some impressive running. He is expected to be a major contributor to the Cobber rushing game in 1999.
