Game Recaps:
Men's Basketball Holds Off St. Thomas for Key MIAC Victory
(Moorhead, Minn.)-- Nate Ohme's steal and layup with three seconds left in the game sealed a key, 55-51 win for the Cobbers over perennial league power St. Thomas. It was the first time since the 2000-01 season that the Cobbers had beaten the Tommies.

With the win, Concordia stays in touch with the lead pack in the MIAC. The Cobbers are now 3-3 in league play and 6-4 overall. Concordia has now won five of the six games played in Memorial Auditorium. With the loss, St. Thomas drops to 2-3 in the MIAC and 4-6 overall. The Tommies head coach Steve Fritz also remains one win shy of breaking the St. Thomas all-time record for victories. Fritz entered the game tied with long-time coach Tom Feely at 417 career wins.

The game was a defensive battle with each team attempting less than 47 shots and scoring a combined 48 points in the second half.(More)

Men's Basketball Can't Hang On Down the Stretch, Fall to Bethel 78-71.
(St. Paul, Minn.)-- Concordia erased a six-point deficit with less than two minutes to play, to tie the score at 68-68, but were then outscored 10-3 in the final 1:47 and lost to Bethel 78-71.

The backcourt tandem of Joe Bueckers (Sr., Pine River, Minn./Pine River-Backus HS) and Josh Downey (Sr., Bigfork, Mont./Bigfork HS) each scored 16 points. Bueckers was perfect on the afternoon from the floor, hitting on all five field goal attempts and all four free throw shots. He also added three assists and did not turn the ball over in 30 minutes of action. Downey was 6-for-18 from the field, as he attempted twice as many shots as anyone else for the Cobbers.

The Cobbers slip to 2-3 in the MIAC and 4-4 overall while the Royals, winners of five straight, improve to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in league play.(More)
