Vike Invitational 8K, Bjornson Park Golf Course, October 1, 1999:

While Concordia sent its top 10 runners to the Dan Huston Invitational 8K in Waverly, Iowa a second group of Cobbers competed at the Vike Invitational in Valley City, North Dakota.  Although having runners at two different meets the Cobber harriers demonstrated their depth of the team finishing 4th of 7 teams.  Leading the way for the Cobbers was Freshman Jim Monson (Maple Plain, MN/Mound Westonka H.S.) finishing 8th in 28:00.  After a summer of solid summer mileage Monson has steadily
improved throughout the season.  Monson was followed by Bernardo Salcido (So., Bakersfield, CA/Foothill H.S.), 20th in 28:38, and Brian Treece (Fr., Plymouth/Maple Grove H.S.), 22nd in 28:41, now out with a stress fracture in his tibia.
