Coach Larson's comments
Dan Huston Invitational 8K, Waverly Municipal Golf Course, October 2, 1999:
Concordia continued its trend of running well finishing 2nd at the Dan
Huston Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The Cobbers improved their
overall record to 21-6, 11-2 vs. NCAA III. Seven of the top 10 runners
set lifetime personal records, led by Chris Goebel (Jr., Albany, MN), 8th
in 26:56. Impressive performances were also turned in by Jason Karls
(So., Billings, MT/Central H.S.), 28th in 27:49, and Matt Jorgenson (Jr.,
Paynesville, MN), 42nd in 28:16. With 6 weeks to go before the NCAA
Central Region Championship back in Waverly, Iowa the Cobbers goal is to
break into the top 10 teams. Concordia's ultimate season goal is
to pull off major upsets against several ranked teams and qualify for the
NCAA Championship, top 4 teams.
