5/19 Cobbers
are NCAA National Runners-Up at the
NCAA Division III National Golf Tournament.
Concordia completed a successful national tournament
by finishing in 2nd place. Their final total score of 1336 was 20 strokes
ahead of third place finisher Rhodes College. The runner-up finish is the
highest since 1992, when they also brought home the 2nd place trophy. The
Cobbers were led by top ten finishers Kari
Weidner (Sr., Fargo) and Maria
Amlen (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) who tied for ninth place with a
total score of 328. Other Concordia finishers include Jenni
Kovash (Jr., Moorhead) who finished tied for 17th with a total
of 338, Christie Strecker (Sr.,
Albert Lea) who finished tied for 21st with a score of 343 and Tanya
Ulvin (Fr., Roseau) who finished 37th with a 361 score.

5/18 Cobbers solidify 2nd place after three
rounds at the NCAA Golf Championships.
Concordia improved their hold on second place
by shooting a team total of 337 on the third day, for a total score of
1004. Concordia leads Rhodes
College by 11 strokes with one round of play left in the championships.
Maria
Amlen (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) shot a 78 and is tied with teammate
Kari
Weidner (Sr., Fargo) for 10th place. If the Cobbers remain in 2nd
place it will be their highest finish at the national meet since 1992.
5/17 Cobbers remain in 2nd place after two
days at the NCAA Golf Championships.
Concordia fell off the pace, as defending champion
Methodist widened its lead, after two rounds of play at the NCAA golf championships.
Methodist fired a second round team total of 314, for a two-day total of
637. The Cobbers dropped back with a score of 339 to bring their tournament
total to 667, which keeps them in second place. Kari
Weidner (Sr., Fargo) and Jenni
Kovash (Jr., Moorhead) are tied for 12th place with a two-day total
of 165.
5/16 Cobbers in 2nd place after first day of NCAA Championships.
Concordia is only 5 strokes behind defending national champion Methodist,
after the first round of competition at NCAA Division III tournament.
Jenni
Kovash (Jr., Moorhead)

CHAMPIONSHIP SITES: The 2000 NCAA Division III Women's Golf
Championships will be conducted May 16-19 at the Prairie
Vista GC in Bloomington, IL. The selected teams and individuals
are listed below.
CHAMPIONSHIP STRUCTURE: The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. All participants will compete throughout the entire 72 holes of competition. In the team competition, the low four scores for each team will count in each day's total score. The championships finals will be held at Prairie Vista Golf Course, in Bloomington, Illinois. The finals will be hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University.
CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES: This year will serve as the first year for the Division III Women's Golf Championships. In prior years, Division II and Division III competed in the same championship.
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Methodist College (NCAA Divisions II and III Women's Golf Championships).
