Joe Schmidgall (Sr., Morris, Minn.) went wire-to-wire to win his first ever MIAC decathlon. Schmidgall competing in his first full decathlon of the year, shook off a season long leg injury, and beat pre-race favorite Joe McCarney of St. Thomas. Schmidgall's point total of 6,264 is the third highest point total in school history, and he becomes the third Cobber to win the event at the MIAC Championships in the past six years.
