Sr. David Feir (Moorhead) hit .372 and led the Cobbers in hits and runs scored, All-MIAC, Team MVP in '98 & '99

Jr. Clayton Horgen (Fergus Falls) hit .364 with 9 doubles and 6 HR, All-MIAC

Baseball ends tied for 5th

The baseball team logged their seventh upper division finish in the past eight years with a tie for 5th in the MIAC race. The Cobbers ended up 10-10 in the league, one game out of third place. Clayton Horgen ('00 Fergus Falls) and David Feir ('99 Moorhead) led the Cobbers. Horgen, a first baseman, earned All-Midwest Region and All-MIAC honors while hitting .364 with 9 doubles and 6 home runs. Feir , an outfielder and the Cobber MVP in both 1998 and 1999, earned his second consecutive  All-MIAC award by hitting .372 while leading the team in both hit and runs.

5/19 David Feir and Clayton Horgen named to All-MIAC Team |oncordia's David Feir (Sr., Moorhead) and Clayton Horgen (Jr., Fergus Falls) have been named to the 1999 All-MIAC Baseball team.

Feir, the Cobber MVP each of the past two years, also earned All-MIAC honors in 1998. This year he hit .403 in MIAC play with a .645 slugging percentage. He was 4th in the MIAC with 21 runs scored and 4th in steals with 11.

Horgen, who also earned All-MIAC honors in football last fall as the MIAC's top punter, hit .386 in MIAC play with 5 doubles and 4 home runs. He was 3rd in the MIAC in hits with 27 and 4th in home runs with 4.

5/18 David Feir was voted team MVP today for the second year in a row. Craig Schwantz and Guy Clairmont were voted as Captains for next year.

5/13/99 Concordia vs St. John's here | Cobbers win game one 4-2, then lose 4-3 in second game. Cobbers end season 10-10 in MIAC, 19-21 overall. St. John's finishes 11-9, 20-16.
