First-year coach Duane Siverson blended the skill of new talent and some solid veterans. The result was 10 wins in their final 15 games, playoff hopes into the final week of the season and renewed excitemetn on campus about men's basketball. The Running Cobbers finished 14-11, 11-9 and tied for 6th in the MIAC co-champs St. Thomas and Gustavus showed fans that an MIAC title-contender is foreseeable.
Concordia was led by senior All-MIAC forward Pete Myrvik (Houghton, MI), (14 points per game) and senior guard Greg Mastrud (Moorhead), the team's top scorer per game. Freshman point guard Cole Flick (Willmar), a leader of Siverson's young team, was named to the MIAC's All-Rookie team.
