Jan. 12, 1999, Sara Spears named MIAC Player of the Week
Sara Spears (So., New London, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) averaged 15.7 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the field in three games this past week.  Spears had 12 points in an 83-57 win Wednesday over Bethel, 19 points, six rebounds and six assists in a 75-71 loss to nationally ranked St. Thomas on Saturday, and 16 points in a 100-74 win Monday over St. Olaf.  She shot 6-for-10 against St. Thomas and 7-for-9 against St. Olaf.
